Been meaning to mix this song for ages but never got around to opening a Puremix account. Not sure if the files are corrupted on their server now but I couldn't unzip acugtr track so had to use acugtrDI only.
I used Jack Johnson's Cocoon as a reference. Although vocally and stylistically very different, there was something about the melodic arppegiated guitar chord progressions and interaction with the percussion that pulled me in that particular direction.
