Had an epic James May session - All 4 songs mixed at once. Tried to get an unified approach for the whole project. Whilst each track is unique, they all have similarities in having strong melodic support instruments e.g violin, cello, clarinet, classical guitar as well as strong lyrical content and deceptively simple arrangements.
On The Line - what was I saying about simple arrangements? There's certainly a touch of "dueling banjos" with all the cello and mandolin licks and riffs. Lots of automation to keep this lot under control. Loved the BG vocals - would love to mix one of his songs.
