Hi everyone, here is my mix.
Hi!

First off - not bad!

I do have a couple of thoughts whilst listening though -

The side stick is a little loud compared to the vocal. I'd imagine you'd probably want the vocal (and possibly the harp too) to be the main feature? At the moment I feel the side stick and snare is occupying thtat slot.

I think the mix overall could do with a little lift around 3-4k on the mix bus - to balance out the low end.
Reverb smooths things out. It also tends to push things back in the mix and also makes the instruments not quite as defined as they might be perhaps?

Other than that - pretty good!

I'm not quite sure what happened with the library reference mix for this. It might be worth checking out the Telefunken video of this track if you haven't seen it already.

Cheers!
Hi,
i like your mix, has a good balanced overall.
Also to put the harp on the left and the guitar on the right was a good decision, because it is played like a second guitar.
If that would be a harp instrumental then it would be in the center.
Only the guitar on the right could have a bit less low mids, but on smaller speakers none will hear that.
And i agree the side stick is really a bit too loud, but in mixing there is no right or wrong, if you like it that way then it is right and perfect.
Yes, the sidestick is loud Smile I should have automated it to lower volume. That's the one thing that bothered me too, after listening to the mix the next day... I should have taken a break and listen to it the next day with fresh ears. Thanks for the comments!
Nothing wrong with this but the side stick at the top. All kinds of ways to deal with it, but it is only thing that detracts from this otherwise excellent take.
