Here's my attempt at this heartfelt song.
I went for a modern sounding voice, so it is (supposed to be) crisp and forward.
I had a bit of a struggle with the guitars and the keys because they seemed to have a bit of a dirty sound, on top of the various room tracks that also had plenty of distortion.
For the mix, I tried to keep the bass, drums and voice forward, and push the guitars and keys a bit back (regardless of the distortion, that was a conscious choice).
The mix has no limiting on the mix bux, although there's some clipping. I also added a teeny tiny sample on the kick, only to brick back the top end that went away when I was removing the spill.
As usual, comments, thougths and feelings are always welcome.
