Just found this site a couple of days ago and I've had a play with this song. Recently picked up an injury which meant that I can't record my own tunes and really liked this one.
Didn't listen to the original before mixing this - my fourth attempt was after listening to some Tom Waits - stripped it right back and I think it works.

Mixed on Adobe Audition 2 and run through T-Racks to brighten it up.

Never heard this song before ... nothing to compare to. First impression: The instruments are quite amazing to my ears. Vocals sound disconnected from them though. As if the singer was in a different room. Or far away from the band and the listener. Good job altogether, thxs for posting. Might have a go at it too
