I think this is the 4th complete mix I've done, so looking forward to getting some feedback on my progress.
I've just noticed that I forgot to account for the snare sample when the drums are doing side stick!

D'OH! Rookie behaviour, that.
The sounds are generally fair but it seems the mix is disjointed. Nothing gluing it together. The kick and bass seem a bit thumpy. I know the drums on this track were very incomplete but I don't think a replacement was needed for the snare which makes it even more disjointed. Intonation of the guitars and bass is also a bit suspect and may be attributable to a chorus effect in the original track which makes it even more difficult to mix.
Thanks for the feedback!
When you talk about glue what do you think would help?
Would it be a short reverb? Slightly more compression on the master bus? Altering some of the EQ?

I'all try the tweaks to the drums that you suggest too.
OK, for this revision I did the following:

- Added a short room reverb and sent a lot of the instruments to it.
- Adjusted my 2 buss compressor to make it more grabby.
- Took the sample off the snare, tweaked the EQ and re-sat.
- Pulled the bass guitar and kick drum back a bit.

Interested to know what you think.
