Balancing horns is difficult. years ago I led the rhythm group in a bigband and played drums bas piano or whoever were missin that day. I remember the pressure from the trumpets, as they are in the 4k area a lot, and how they often were asked to play softer so the saxes could be heard, and its that memory made me write this to you. Its small changes, like 2-3 dB.
