Despite what the other guy said, i found the first mix overall better, it fitted the mood of the song perfectly

i can hear a lot of compression on the lead vocals... really bad mate, try to adjust the attack = almost zero, decay = as fast you can, compression 4:1, with a gentle gain reduction only in the strongest passages. be gentle and kind and you'll se that even in a punk song you'' receive a great sound. take a look to my track (mixed and mastered by myself in just 4hours and half and i'm pretty happy with the sound).
use a low volume during the mix and do this way:
number 1 drums (find a decent sound),
number 2 bass (find a decent sound),
number 3 vocals (find a decent sound),
number 4 vocals + drum + bass (try a good blend)
number 5 guitars (find a decent sound)
number 6 solo guitar (find a decent sound)
number 7 now you have to perform last touches in order to blend very well the overall sound.

be patient, mixing is really difficult.

only this way you can find the right sound. 'cause if you insert the voice too late ... it's going to be a mess...
