It sounds great ! Like Olli mention the guitar in solo could be little louder, I like it to have more middle too, and I like the bas a little louder. But it certainly isnt my mix and you made it like this. Great comp again.
If I may: the snare could have little more body - and the organ could come down a tad, I never liked the sound, always intended it to live under the pianos.
Im glad my old song can be of use and inspiration for such great work you guyas do - thank you al !
Old ears, old gear, little boy inside love music and sounds and my wife, not necessarily in that order

Maybe the guitar could come up little bit in solo (2:03). Now there's some kind of drop in level when vocals disappear and solo begins.
Your mix must be closest to what Voelund had in his mind, when he made this song.
Thanks olli i will investigate the drop in level and adjust the solo level !

I like your mix don!
I found the bass overpowers everything though.
I would agree with Olli that you have a ''love'' for rough sound!

I enjoyed the first versions, but version 3 sounds very nearly pro, don! my only comments are that the obvious star of the show is the very excellent lead guitar work during the solo, and while the vocals are also stellar, I'd make sure they were secondary to the guitar solos in overall impact on the song.
also, don't be afraid to take advantage of the vocals' raw, technically "flawed" qualities, because these are the foundation a great blues sound. obviously these comments are simply my taste. impeccable work as always, don.
I'm grateful for comments and suggestions. Thank you for listening!

OK. I listened to both versions here. One thing I was pleased with: I'm glad you got rid of the problem with the EQ on the vocal on the first attempt. Sounded like poor Voelund was holding his nose throughout the song...
I like the nice solid way the guitars jump out of the mix. Not exactly the way I approached the mix as I felt this song needed a smoother, more laid-back sound. However, in your mix, the prominent guitars work well. I do, however, suggest you take them down just a little, maybe 3-5 dB.
The only major problem with this mix is it seems awfully heavy in the 5-6 kHz range; it sounds brassy and overly harsh as a result. I'd back off a bit on your EQ in general, actually; as I recall from doing this mix Voelund's original tracks were very well recorded and didn't require a truckload of EQ to tame.
One other issue. Sounds like you used some compression during mastering. I really don't think this song needs it but if you insist on using it you might try it quite a bit more subtle. Ratio 3:1 at most, 2:1 would be better, with a relatively high threshold of no more than -15 dB; -10 would probably work better.
I like the direction this mix is going but, as it stands now, it's a little harsh and over the top to my ears; this might be appropriate to other types of music but not smooth gospel/70s rock like this.

Having listened to this mix a second time I have one more suggestion:
Might add a little reverb to those guitars; they sound great up front but they seem a little flat and unnatural. They need something to suggest live play on a stage in a large venue.
