Shul, I'm guilty of neglect. This was mixed on a trial of a cheap DAW which I occasionally come back to review, but it's workflow is horrendous and never seems to be addressed. So, much was cut short.
I will have another bash later on if I can find the motivation, but in my old DAW and with plugs I'm familiar with.
Your observation about the genre is about right. I can't remember why I took the vision of a synth centric concept, but maybe it was to avoid much of the slow decay and spectral congestion in the guitars? There's also the chance that I saw the guitars as mainly providing additional rhythm rather than much in the way of melody and saw the synths as fulfilling this role? I'm guessing though, because of the time lapse.
