Would be nice to have some material that hasn't been tampered with post-recording, anyone care to recommend such projects here? I'd be eternally grateful.
Sounds pretty decent. Perhaps take the bottom snare mic down a bit? I would've gone with more static panning, but good job! ^_^
Hello.

I believe this song falls on latin rock pop. The essence I get from it is very electro pop. In my personal opinion I believe the guitar arrangements are the most important here and seems like you used the synths to base your mix on.

*drums sound weak in comparison with the synths. I would try more compression on snare to have more appreciation on those ghost notes.
*voice sounds like it was recorded off a radio instead of a human. Not sure if you did this on purpose or not but the nasal feel could go down a lil more.
*bass is too upfront for me I think it takes away some of the guitars presence. The synths in occasions also have this effect on the acoustic guitars.

Overall is not bad. I believe it's more of a different approach than the one I'd take but here is a link of a good latin pop rock band if you wouldnlike to hear more how latin pop rock sounds like.

Hi gents, thanks both for listening and commenting.

Shul, I'm guilty of neglect. This was mixed on a trial of a cheap DAW which I occasionally come back to review, but it's workflow is horrendous and never seems to be addressed. So, much was cut short. Blush

I will have another bash later on if I can find the motivation, but in my old DAW and with plugs I'm familiar with.

Your observation about the genre is about right. I can't remember why I took the vision of a synth centric concept, but maybe it was to avoid much of the slow decay and spectral congestion in the guitars? There's also the chance that I saw the guitars as mainly providing additional rhythm rather than much in the way of melody and saw the synths as fulfilling this role? I'm guessing though, because of the time lapse.

Thanks for your participation, it's appreciated.
