For me, there is too much distortion and high-end fizz in your mix to really enjoy it. The balancing is solid and you made a lot of good mix decisions, but the distortion ruined it for me. The biggest problem is the snare: It sounds like you`ve run it through Decapitator or some other distortion tool. Could also be a super heavy compression, clipping or limiting that's causing the distortion effect. It sounds especially annoying every time the drummer plays a fill with multiple quick snare hits, almost like a machine gun.
Because you have mentioned it: KSE has a more "thumpy", less distorted snare. You can hear the original drum mix of My Curse (which was a big inspiration for us) here:

Besides that, you don't need multibus compression for a good mix. Concentrate on the basics (balance, automation) and everything else will fall into place.
