theDon...been a while since I've been around. Going to post my mix of this song soon, but wanted to take a listen to how others handled it.
Imho, your mix is pretty well done, but the guitar is simply too thin. I did some weird stuff to get a full guitar which match the tune, at least to my way of thinking, and from what I'm "hearing" around here, everyone seems to feel that pain! lol
Suggestion, and what I did:
Duplicated the guitar track. EQ'd one to focus mid range, the other deemphasizing it, and bringing out the excitement. Then I offset the two tracks by a smidgeon.
There are a million ways to approach mixing this song, but the initial engineering is excellent in my opinion, and yet challenging to work with, which is, after all, the fun in it!
