Hello everyone, I'm somewhat new to the mastering world of audio haha. Anyways, I did a quick mastering of the track Burning Bridges and would love some feedback and tips on how to improve what I've already done.

I would go back to start and do it again. There are so many things that need to be fixed that it's impossible for me to write it all down
![]() Next time try this: 1. Use a reference mix. I would use the mixed version of Burning Bridges as a guideline 2. Read about basic mixing techniques. Like this: http://www.cambridge-mt.com/mixingsecrets.htm And for rock & metal check this: http://www.systematicproductions.com/mixing-guide.htm 3. Focus on 1-2 things at a time and try to get them right. Like Panning, or Automation, or Compression. You will get better after a while. 4. Check the FAQ for this song. 5. I don't know what you use for monitoring but get a good pair of headphones AND and a decent pair of monitors. You need both.

I'll check out those links you sent. I'm using an Onkyo surround sound system in my room although, I will admit, that using a good pair of headphones would have helped. I'll re-do this mix and post it here again. Thanks again ![]()
I think the lack of a proper monitoring system is your biggest problem. If you fix that your mixes will be a lot better in the future. But keep in mind that you have to listen to a lot of music on your new headphones/monitors so you ears can get used to them.
