Balkun Brothers: 'So Hi. So Lo.' - dryfat - 25-09-2021 hi there, here is my approach. regards RE: Balkun Brothers: 'So Hi. So Lo.' - Mixinthecloud - 05-10-2021 I like your drums a lot. Good thrash. I think you caught the character of this song well. RE: Balkun Brothers: 'So Hi. So Lo.' - dryfat - 14-10-2021 hi MITC, I'm glad that you like the mix. Since this is a live recording, it was quite difficult to make the drums sound natural because of the bleed. That's why i used heavy gating, compression and debleeding on the ohs. Sounds trashy, you're right. Guitar has a massive delay of 35ms for the stereo effect, lot of Eventide H910 and bass are reamped with Overloud U-HE. regards RE: Balkun Brothers: 'So Hi. So Lo.' - MuthaFunk - 21-02-2023 I've been struggling to get this tune mixed down well. I thought I had a good mix until I listened to this. WOW! I have so much to learn. This mix is so in your face I love it. The raw tracks have so much bleed on the vocals it's hard to get them to sound normal. Also did you use any drum samples? RE: Balkun Brothers: 'So Hi. So Lo.' - dryfat - 23-02-2023 hi MuthaFunk, I'm glad that you like the mix. I generally don't use samples for drums. It's the same in this mix. I only use samples when the drums sound really bad, and I can't get any further. I used Slate Gates Bundle on all tracks, incl. vocals, as I remember on it. |
