AiA - I'm Allright - my mix - looking for feedback - JD. - 19-10-2020

Hi everyone,

this is my first mix here, please listen to it and give a feedback what is good and what is not ok.
Since I'm just starting with the art of mixing, any feedback highly appreciated for further development,
I'll try to give my opinion to your tracks too.

Thanks in advance!
JD

Sounds great! The eq'ing is awesome, the mix is nice and open/clear sounding. Everything sits where it should in the mix as well, nothing is too up front or in the back. I would just dial the reverb back some as it sounds a little too prominent and makes the mix sound 'washed out' so to speak. Everything else is killer!

Hey JD,

in my opinion a very good mix, but I still came up with a few nitpicks:

- Solo Electric guitar is a bit to loud and forward for me maybe pull it back a few db and or cut a bit of the high-mids
- there is a delay on the acoustic (I think) which is a bit distracting
- vocals are pretty mid-focused, they almost have a telephone character.  In fact, the whole mix is a bit mid-heavy. Maybe try introducing some high-end.

The drum hit at the very start of the songs sounds mono to me. If you have reverb on your drums I would make sure its a stereo channel and if not I would add some Tongue
I liked the pan automation at 2:00 on the acoustic although it was a tiny bit too forward for me.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Lukas Angel
