Hey folks,

this is my version of burning bridges. I worked about three days on the Mix/Master. I only worked on headphones (Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro), because I'm currently not at my studio.

Day 1
- Rough volume balance
- Drums clean up (Wow dude, there were so much useless frequencies in the snare and the cymbals Dodgy)

Day 2
- Main mixing phase
- pretty less EQ and Comp needed
- simple automation
- first master

Day 3
- teaking the mix
- more detailed automation
- listened back to some other mixes of the song and decided to add just a little more low end (some mixes in this forum are so bass-heavy)
- final master

My reference track for the mastering phase was "the clans will rise again" from Grave Digger. So I cutted some top end, a little cut in the mids, a bit multi-comp. DONE. Max DR 7.4 comparing to Grave Digger 4.2.

Hope you enjoy it. Feedback is very much appreciated Blush
Cheers redbeard,

snare and kickdrum are too prominent and "clicky" for my taste. The guitars could be more "in your face" just like the vocals. Too much reverb and you´ll loose the aggression and power. I think a fast metal song sound better if you put most of the instruments "in your face". The second part of the solo is too quiet. Guitar solos should take up the space of the lead vocals - right in the center, loud and aggressive. I don't know what's so interesting with the Wooohooo-Choir - it's just there to support the second solo, not to overshadow it Smile
