Hi,
I've mixed the song with the purpouse of testing Neutron 4. Most of the tracks uses instances of Neutron 4 equalizer, unmask, exciter or sculptor modules, with some help by Lindell 50 channel strip as I'm used to work with it.
Mixed just using headphones: Hifiman Sundara and a quick check with Apple Earpods.
never heard of Neutron 4. Looks cool. Currently using reaper.. but have also used logic pro. I have never done a mix in protools.. I'm one of those guys lol.

Balances are solid but the mix does need some more EQ surgical attention.
@1:45 there is a bad resonant freq. in the guitar and I believe there is a synth track with it too. You should notch that out.

I think the main issue in your mix for me is that it's not dynamic enough. Sounds like everything has compression and when you get the bigger picture the song sounds very small and with
no energy. Are you using heavy compression on several tracks? Are you using heavy compression in the master bus? You should dial it back to prevent lack of energy.

I'm using hifiman ananda nano. Similar to the sundara but I believe this has a crispier top end. You can definitely mix with hifiman headphones but you really have to listen to a lot of music with them and also reference tracks while mixing so you can get used to them.
hope this helps.

Hi Shul, thanks for the advices, they surely help!
I'm a long time Reaper used after a few Cubase years. I'm never being in Protools either  Tongue

Your Anandas are a step up from Sundaras and eq-wise they are crispier as you said, but also a bit fuller in the low end. I equed the Sundaras testing various software like Hornet VHS, Toneboosters Morphit and Waves Nx, ending up with my personal eq curve that I use to mix. But the referencing suggestion is a good one, I should do it more.

Neutron 4 is a good tool, I really liked the eq as it has varius types of curves that can be made dynamic and that offer the possibility to show overlapping frequencies between instrments, to help create a cleaner mix. But this functionality seems to clash with my GeForce MX130 drivers, so graphics tend to become glitchy just with this function. And I also liked the Sculptor in Neutron which, in contrast to the lightweight N4 Equalizer, tends to be heavy on the processor.
