new mix
Sounds good, man. I like the synths and the (dance) kick. The vocal is really nice but could use some de-ess in the beginning. I think the snare could be a bit more forward. To me, it's the driving force behind the chorus. I also noticed that when it came to the chorus your mix lost a little of the beefiness. I think you can bring the kick/bass, especially the beater, up more to compensate. Either that or lower the dance kick down, preferably, instead of raising the level of the metal kick. I find that raising the level (of anything) also increases the potentiality of it masking other instruments, forcing me to raise levels of many others and can almost see the rabbit hole in proximity, not a good place to be. The guitars and the synths eat up a lot of top end from the snare preventing it from dominating the part. A little cut ~200hz and ~ 3-4kHz on both the guitars and the synths should leave some room for the snare. Try to put 2 compressors in serial on the snare each about 3-4dBs of GR (slow attack and fast release. I use BF76, a clone of 1176 that comes with pro tools). You may be able to get the snare snappy. Hope it helps, man. I am glad to see you still trying. It'll come to you soon enough.
