Hi all! I share my take on this track. really good sounds but a bit challenge one, especially when all the instruments are playing together. Any kind of feedback is appreciated it.
Cheers!

Edit: New file added (V2). With very subtle minor changes in my mastering process.
Edit #2: New version (V3) Messing around with the faders to get a bit upper-mids less presence.
Edit #3: New work (V4) From the scratch. Don't know how it ends.
Hey!

[V2]

For me this is quite mid forward, especially in the 2-3k area, compared to the low end. I feel I'm missing out on the bass as a consequence. Might be worth checking the overall frequency balance against a few reference tracks? This seems to be a difficult one to get right. I don't think I quite managed it. Keep at it though!

Cheers!

Many thanks Mike for the feedback.
For this track in particularly i wanted to get big presence of the instruments, i recognize that for this one i didn't use any reference track, (big mistake). i uploaded a third version trying to taking care of the presence on the uper-mids and get a bit clean the track, without drastic changes, i really liked for this one being more musical louder. many thanks Mike again for write your honest view. Cheers!
Hi!

[V3]

The main issue with this session is that there are a some similar resonant frequencies in a few of the tracks that really start to build up when everything is playing together.  They make things sound quite harsh, unless you seek them out and cut them from the individual tracks.

I hope you don't mind - I've put together a quick demo file here of me switching out a couple of eq's - one is cutting resonances, the other after it is a little high/low shelf to gently rebalance the mix.  You should hopefully hear some 'whistling' freqencies appear back in the mix when the eq's are bypassed.  I exaggerated the cuts a little bit here, I made the cuts at: 250Hz 1332Hz 3647Hz.

There's a nice video here of George Massenburg demonstrating his GML eq by removing a couple of resonances from a piano.

Cheers!

Quick Edit:

Forgot to add - I think the de-essing gets a little heavy at times - eg around the 1:37 mark. Also watch the snare as it also gets a bit clicky at times in this one too.

Anyway, hope these couple of tips are some help!

Thanks Mike for write always a helpful comment.  Sorry for the late writeback.
Yeah, as you mentioned, the main challenge in this track was the part of the intro and re-intro part, in give it a clear sound, i checked the youtube video and others and made me go back and tried to do a new mix. i also listened the audio file and yeah i could listened the different eq settings  that u made. so i added a new file (V4). trying to care about the de-essing and snare thoughts that you wrote but i think that the minute that you mentioned to be careful with the de-esser it's the performance of the singer. But don't know how it ends. Thanks Mike for you help. Smile Cheers!
Hello! I Would subject to check the Reverbs on the vocal, I would consider checking the Wet/Dry if is it on the same channel or check the decay on the Reverb and I feel a little thin the drums and give some weight to the snare hahahahaha.
Good job on your mix! Keep it up.
