A roughmix, open to feedback!
Hi,

Quick listen - good balances. The mix is a little bright for me though. Krabbe pointed out the vocal in my mix had quite a lot of 2k in it. I found a lot of the raw tracks are quite resonant around the 1.6 - 2k. If you check each of the tracks and cut the resonances in this area, just doing that will likely make this a final mix I should think!

Cheers!
Thanks for your feedback! Agree the rough was a bit too bright and the drums were also a bit too separated. Made a V2.
Cheers!

Hi!

Not sure what everyone elses view is, it still gets a bit edgy for me in the top end I think?  Especially the vocal/snare/cymbals?

Not sure if this actually helps or not.  I had a quick go at cutting some of the top end resonances as kind of a example.  It's something that's better to be done as needed on each individual channel though, as the bus compresson and limiting compounds the issue a little.  (The volume of this is a little lower).

Cheers!
I've hopefully attached the eq cuts.
Thanks Mike, indeed there were some nasty mid-high freq in the drums and vocals! Cut them out, I think its much better in V3!
Cheers!
Yes much better! The raw tracks are actually pretty good once the resonances are removed and it makes things much easier.

I feel it's important to mention to anyone else reading this that it's important not to go too crazy as you might end up with a comb filtered mess if you add too many cuts. Some resonances may be ok and actually be a part of the sound. Every now and again though you'll find a build up that's just too much, and affects the whole mix.

Cheers!
Thanks!
Hi!
Listen to the RJRMIX3 version.
The drums sound pretty solid, the mix in general works real well, the only thing for me it's that the mix sounds a tiny bit charged in the lower mid's, but other that, real good sounds. cheers!
Hi,
Actually I really like your mix 3.   It is open and large.  I say well done.
Mine seem small and closed in...  might start again    Rolleyes
