Another great song. I especially love the cowbell, who doesn't, right?
Hi dude. hope ur doing good. Smile
Making my contribution here on your post!!
Something happen with the drums. i heard them like if were played like muting all the time. so sorry if i sound rude (believe me don't want to) it doesn't sound natural to me. seems that the gate is bit too aggressive? or like if you edited all transients and just cutted the tails. don't know what could be. i like how the snr sounds. it sounded good. i like the acoustic gtr how u placed. and the electric gtr's are working good together. i think all else works without no problems. but yeah, my main focus is the drums. Hope being a good comment, so sorry if bothers you. i applaud the effort. isn't an easy one. Happy mixing dude. Smile
Cheers!!
Thanks for leaving a comment. No problem. Perhaps you're right on the gate a bit too aggressive. I found another way to address the gate's choking artifact when trying to shorten the ringing of the kick. Thanks again, man.
I worked on the kick's gate and back it off to where I think it completes its sustain but not get in the way of the next kick behind it and use the compressor to keep it punchy. I try to keep the kick as short as I can to gain some headroom. I worked on the snare a bit more. I thought it was a little harsh by adding with the hats, which already came with some rough hi mid. Chopped off some of the attack and a little boost on the ~200hz to get the body. On the hats I cut what I thought would be the top end of the snare ~3kHz and gave it a slight boost ~9kHz. And this is only a second round. I usually last about 7 rounds. Plenty to go.
