My first mix that I've actually finished! Would love feedback on anything that sticks out here, I'm a beginner so any tips or advice would be more than welcome.

I really enjoyed working on this one, takes me right back to listening to Linkin Park in school, but there was something about the chorus vocals that meant I couldn't get them to sit in the mix quite as a would've liked -- they were, depending on the line, 15 to 25 cents sharp. I had a go at pitching them down, but that made it even worse somehow. Tried autotune, and even with the reference pitch turned up to match the sharpness, it sounded really strange. I left them completely untuned in the end, so if anyone has any idea on how to fix that, I'd love to hear it!
I like that snap on the snare. The excitement in it is great but I think a lil too hot.
Balances overall are good but the voices I think is pretty loud in comparison with the rest of the mix.
Last but not least, a bit more midrange overall would be great in your mix. Sometimes thin mixes translates bad in car speakers or earpods etc.

Keep it up!!

Thanks for the feedback! If I can find the time, I'll do a second mix to try and address those issues. Aeons ago when I released music fairly regularly, the one thing that people always said was that my vocals were too quiet, so I think I'm still overcompensating for that a decade later!

As for the snare, I really struggled with making it suitably aggressive; counting the snare and the drum bus, I think I'm compressing it twice, then distorting it twice (albeit in parallel), so I'm not at all surprised it's overcooked.

Finally for the midrange, I think I'm just going to have to go back and experiment a little; I did cut back low mids a fair bit to get that late 90's/early 00's nu-metal feel, and I did have a look at it with SPAN just to check before I rendered it -- you're not wrong, there's a massive valley there, and I don't currently know how to fix it without making things sound a bit boxy. I'll give it a go anyway though.

Thanks again for the feedback!
