Hi,

My attempt.

Cheers!

Update: Mix 1.0 minor vocal tweaks.
The chorus sounds smaller than verses. Really drops a lot
Which bit do you mean? The vocal level - ie the lead vocal 2 bit? The vocal FX hook thing? The whole lot?

The lead vocal 2 bit actually has a 4-6db boost on it compared to the verse vocal. I also wanted to give a bit of relative impact to the break 1 loop.
the whole lot mate
Oh. Sounds ok to me I think compared to the library mix?

Cheers!
the only smaller part I hear is at 2:11.. after that build up, it sort of.. shrinks a bit.. but regains it after the bass kicks in a gain. Sounds good to me. I donn't think it's missing drastic impact when transitioning to the chorus. (heard second track on here)
Appreciate your thoughts there.

Well, the only difference with the 2nd version is only that I increased the volume of the 2nd vocal track a few db. To me that part appears to get quieter relative to the backing parts on the library mix too. I don't think that is addressing what takka meant though, as I posted that mix at the same time he replied.

Do correct me if I have this wrong, but I think it is maybe down to a difference of opinion regarding instrument balance and focus choices. I am not trying to get it to hit hard as such, and I don't have some of the synth parts as loud as some. I am not dismissing anyone's opinion, maybe I just hear it differently right now.

I did spend quite a bit of time on the balance and panning. I do really like the library mix and was attempting to get somewhere in the ballpark.

Main differences for me between this and the library mix is that I decided not to have the vocal quite so upfront as I felt it brought the other instruments and drum breaks focus, impact and detail up a bit, relatively speaking. This means that I have the vocal and guitar a bit quieter at the start. The track does build, so there is a tradeoff with the limiting too. It's not quite as bright either.

Cheers!
Good sounding mix, my favourite so far, not much to complain Smile

Thanks Smile

Cheers!
Its a nice mix i think, like the sort of longer tones in the vocals, sounds really musical. Think this has been mentioned before but think the refrain needs to be bit louder / bigger in context to verses. Smooth sounding mix though i like it.
