My first post here! I’ve been mixing songs from here for years though, and my own songs for many years before that.
Fun track — very interesting little details in the layers. I wanted to subtly expand the eerie atmosphere on this track but otherwise keep things very simple. The vocals sounded like they were using a Space Echo or something, so I added on top of that, the synths got a slight wash from a Lex 480L Hall setting, drums have light parallel compression from an 1176. No other compression used on the other busses or the master (just a limiter to make sure it wouldn’t exceed -1dB for conversion purposes).
Let me know what you think! I didn’t directly reference it, but this song reminded me a lot of Deadmaus’ “Bot” with the same persistent ominous low-end and monotone vocals.
