Here Is Version 1 ,
Didn't do to much ,Just tamed some resonant frequencies in the vocals and bass guitar.
Used Waves SSL Channel on all tracks with some minor eq adjustments to taste.
The most compression was a blue 1176 compression minus 7-8 db on the vocals.
Spent more time on trying to get more depth .
Any ideas for version 2 welcome !

This is a good effort but the first thing that stands out to me is the overuse of reverb, its a little too muddy at times.
The backing vox needs a little widening too brother, well done Big Grin

Lovely mix Don, really enjoyed it.

I think the FX in the opening verse and chorus are spot on, but as mentioned already, once band comes in proper it all gets a bit much. Maybe an Abbey Road reverb EQ curve would help on the FX returns/bus - that usually sorts things out, or just automate the FX send levels down a bit.

wide vs narrow BGVs.....i'm a wide guy but i reckon narrow works if balanced right - no issues for my taste here. Mandolins are the devils spawn but i like what you've done here

Good job.

Cheers, Simon

Vox sounds great

At the beginning: I wonder if the top end is a bit too crisp.
When the band comes in, frequency balance is better to my ears.

After 1:10 vox maybe a bit too timid. At least to me it feels, that it has to compete with the band.

Otherwise: well done, nothing to complain

Sorry for the late reply been very busy !
Thanks for having a listen Olli ,I can hear what you can hear and will try to sort out in the next version .

this mix is very good, Don. I would only make the reverb on the instruments less obvious especially during the intro. Other than that, the only think I can add is that I like it Smile

l
Really good man
Feels like the vocals aren't stable through the entire song somehow...
Maybe it's getting buried with verbs
