Hey guys, here's my mix of "Burning Bridges"

Any feedback, pointers, advice, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Hello Braxtons

I think you gotta go back to re balancing the mix.
Here are my observations.

*Tones on guitars are great the way they are in the recording. I would stay away from the eq as much as possible. Here they sound very bad. as if they were recorded through a very bad amp.
*Drums are a really important part of any metal song. They don't have to poke out.. but also they don't have to be so burried. I would turn up the drums overall maybe another 5db. Here I can barely hear the distinction.
*I hear reverb excess overall in the mix. I think that's one of the main problems for why the mix sound foggy. I would add very little reverb to everything here.
*Bass has some resonating freq. that are causing some problems too... I would use a shelf Eq from 100hz down.. and a cut around 200Hz to kill that unwanted freq.

Perhaps you uploaded the wrong file? Honestly I can't hear drums at all.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback Shul!

I did this mix in about 3 1/2 hours with no breaks, and looking back, you're definitely right. I went back and brought the drums up, EQd the bass, and dropped the reverb down. Updated the first post with the new version.
Question.

What are your settings for the mp3 bounce? is it 320kbps?

Yeah why?

Because there is an overall distortion and pumping going on. Like it sounds it was bounced with low quality. Let me get back to you later.
This mix is totally distorted so I can't really tell whats wrong - because eveyrthing sounds wrong =)
