First post here! This was such a fun song to mix. I rushed it a little bit, which is the reason for the hiss in the beginning and the sloppy fade out. I was just really excited to get some opinions on it.
This is a good start. Most of everything is spot on. I especially like the swipe you added across the sound field at the intro to the break. Very cool. I do think you can do better with the vocals though. The backgrounds have an odd compression on them which could be improved and the lead vox could be better placed. You may also want to address some mastering for levels if you spend more time on this. Other than that, well done.

Thanks so much for the reply and the kind words! Having listened to the mix again I definitely agree that the lead and background vocals can be improved.

I'll probably have another edit up within the week that includes the revisions. Thanks for the advice!

Here's the updated version! I made the background vocals a little more prominent during the chorus and sweetened the lead vocals just a tad. Some other minor adjustments to the overall mix are present as well.

Not hearing a lot of difference between your two mixes. Would still like to hear better placement of the lead vox with effects and see what you can do with over-all mastering levels.
Not bad at all! The drums are nice and tight, though I think the overall bottom end (bass and kick) is a bit bloated. Nice editing with the cymbal reverse and swipe. I think that the lead vocal just needs a bit more work, a bit more edge/brightness/excitement. Maybe some effects to taste, but that's all personal preference. I would also say you could play around more with your stereo field, but that's also a bit of preference. I think this is one of the better mixes of this song, though!

I just posted my own mix of this song, feel free to take a listen and give me your critiques as well Smile
