The biggest challenge was the KD. After a while of trying to get the right sound from the existing KD I decided to use EZ Drummers Default Modern Kits KD instead.
I used Revalver 4 for the main rhygtrs with more of a throaty brit tone.
I really like everything about this song, good playing, dynamics, lyrical alliteration and uplifting vocal delivery.
I used the Bass DI and blended the chorus with ST Little Devil for grit and fuzz.
I implemented EWQL Spaces for the really ambient reverbs and Manny Marroqiun for some of the delays used.
Some automation but not a great deal.
I took the Harmony gtr during the chorus' signal and sent it OB to my Zack Wylde WAH and accentuated the vocal delivery and then blended it with the original take for a little more color and presence. Its subtle but effective.
The vocals were easy, a little compression/EQ and tight ambiance.
Like with most of my mixes I didn't listen to anyone's mix prior to mixing so not to copy or compare or be influenced by others.
