This is my attempt at what I heard this tune to sound like in my head, Any Critiques would be greatly appreciated.
As per Blitzz `s comments I`ve re-uploaded a new mix on 12/8/15.

Cheers,

Alan
No takers on critiques , must be all good then LOL
Nice mix. it has that very full mid low area like killswitch.(my opinion, which could be very wrong, something in the kick or bass is a bit to boomy in this area) You've got a lot of width in that area also which I noticed songs in this genre sometimes do. There where moments when i thought the main gtrs could have been a bit louder but that might cause to much muddiness in the lo mid area so you'd have to lo-shelf them which is probably a very bad idea. I think your mix is pretty hard to fault in any real way. I would be interested to hear what Blitzz thinks.
Did you use a reference mix? If you did you should have noticed that you are in fizzyland Smile The hihat nearly killed my ears Undecided After changing my trusted AKGs 271s and listening to the mix on some consumer style headphones (Beyerdynamic MMX 300) it was even worse Undecided

I also did a quick A/B check with Rose of Sharyn an My Curse and there was a huuuuge gap in the mids. I mean, really huge.

Hey Blitzz , no I didn`t use a reference track, I`ve remixed it by listening to Rose Of Sharyn, Yup it was fizzy land as I prefer dirty fizz in guitars and I usually scoop mids heavily to let the drums through more as for the hihats come on guys spend tons of money on these then they just get buried , they weren`t that loud LOL anyway, I've uploaded a new mix if you`d like to take a listen this is a much cleaner than I`m use to mix and a boost in the mids rather than the analog scoop, I mix on sennheiser 280hd`s got rid of my akg`s as I found them very tinny with little bottom end response.

Cheers,

Alan
Well, headhones should be as flat as possible so you can make the right adjustments. Sonarworks have a nice plugin called Reference that changes the eq curve of your headphones to make them really flat. It does help if you are solely mixing on headphones but you should check your mix on normal speakers or - even better - monitor speakers too. Although I love to mix on headphones (I'm using Reference and Focusrite VRM Box with AKG's) I always check my mixes on 2-3 different speakers (a pair of Adams, a pair of NuPros and cheap desktop speakers) while mixing.

What's even more important is that you "know" your headphones just like you should know how your monitors sound when you play pro mixes on them.

Yup, and these HD280`s are super flat... I also give a listen on my BX5 a`s then I`ll listen in my car which is a Sony Xplod system with dual 12inch subs in the trunk. So did you listen to the new mix I uploaded last night?
