This was a fun track to mix. i tried to get a somewhat 90s metal feel with it overall! let me know what y'all think!
Cool Version ,I like the guitar in the intro and the drum roll ,Just needs a little more work getting the balance of the big intro and the rest of the mix to fit together which i found a good challenge.
Maybe have a play around with a little more level balancing as after the intro the guitars and kick sound a little overpowering the bass and vocals especially.
Good Job Big Grin
I'm working on this one at the moment... it's a tough one.

Main issue here is that the guitars are eating everything. Getting the bass to work with the guitars is god awful difficult because the raw bass track is pretty bad, but it can be done. There's actually a pretty good bass guitar tone hiding under that low mid resonance, but you'll need to perform major surgery with a dynamic EQ to dig it out.

Once you've got that working for you, I'd suggest you rethink your spectral priorities a little bit. Try letting the bass guitar fill out sub frequencies and roll some sub out of the kick and you'll find the guitars have a more comfortable sonic foundation to support them. It'd be a good idea to do a little frequency selective compression on the guitars, too, since the palm mutes like to jump out of the balance a bit. Another idea worth trying: the kick won't create as much sub buildup if you automate a low cut during the kick rolls.

Fortunately we've got a really talented, emotional vocal performance to work with. I'd be looking to nail the guitars down in the balance to give the vocal more room for expressiveness.

Just my thoughts, for what they're worth.
I'm working on this mix now. I re-amped the bass with Amplitube and then did some EQ carving. I also doubled the bass track and boosted the highs with some saturation and mixed that with original bass track. I didn't feel the guitars were that difficult, I struggled with bass and kick. I used some side channel compression to tame the bass during kicks. I'll get my mix ready soon and then I'll post it for you to comment.
