Hi guys, my first upload on this awesome site. Please give me feedback on my mix, what can be improved upon, what sounds good etc. An extra thanks goes out to Dark Ride who supplied the awesome stems and great track, thanks.

Thanks in advance/ Adam
Hey Adam, cool mix. I really like the drum sound you have achieved here and the work on the lead vocal is equally impressive. The guitars sound a little bit background-ish for my ears and could possibly benefit from some added presence and grit. Their level in the mix contributes to a slightly overall scooped sound and I think if you brought out a bit of the 2-3khz region of the guitars the mix could benefit from this. Keep up the great work.

Cheers,
Mick

Thank you for your kind feedback Mick, I really do appreciate it! I agree with the thing you said about the guitars being a little bit scooped, I was afraid of using too much harsh frequencies which in turn made the guitars sit a little too far back in the mix. I will try and work on a revised mix. Its nice that you like the drums, I spent a lot of time on them since i believe that every good metal mix has punchy, huge and clear drum sounds.

Regards/ Adam
Hi Adam, too much drums for my taste, but they sound great! It's normal to hide behind them the instruments you have doubts about. I agree a more mid-high aproach on the guitars (and maybe vocals also) will benefit the mix.

Guitars and Vocals need to come up. It's still a trash metal song, not a Sepultura-in-their-Ratamahatta-tribal-phase-Song Smile The bass is WAY to loud and distorted in the bridge. The solo guitar is a tad too low in the second half of the solo.

The whole song would benefit from volume automation for each part to make it more interesting to listen to. We're only talking about 1-2 db here, just enough to seperate the parts from each other. It should sound natural and not like someone is turning the volume know up and down though Smile The bridge REALLY needs to come down to make the solo part pop out.

And try to give the guitars more warmth - don't cut away all the mids. Think Killswitch, not Machine Head.
Thank you for all your great feedback guys! Reading your feedback and then listening to the mix again really made me hear what you are saying. I've worked on a revised mix, would love to hear if it sounds better or even worse hehe. I brought the guitars up quite a bit and have automated some parts of the song.

Thanks again.

Regards/ Adam
Hmm - the overheads are gone Smile
