Lound and Clear Mix + Hello
#2
I keep hearing voices... from far and wide... but at least they're very clear!

*ahem*

HI!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting your first mix posted!

Brief comments:

On the first verse, I think a little less on that acoustic guitar, a little more on the violin, and a little more on the kick drum overall.

When the extra vocals come in at the bridge, be careful of the added level. You probably want to pull everything back a bit there.

At 1:50, bring out that guitar a bit more. You probably want to compress the accoustic guitar a bit more (fast attack, fast release, just to even out the strum). Vocals sound like they could use some compression as well but have to be a little more careful with the settings there. That might help them sit better in the mix overall. I am also assuming you don't have access to Melodyne or anything similar to give the vocalist a little assistance? If not, that's fine. We work with what we have. Wink

I also hear that it sounds like there wasn't much EQ applied to the 4080 mics. Those generally need to have some of the lower end cut back to help brighten them up and maybe also a slight (~2dB) shelf at about 4k.

So you have a good foundation but some adjustments will probably improve it markedly.

Good start, now let's see how the second pass goes!
