Hey guys.

Breaking in my new monitors---I gave this mix about an hour. Let me know if I totally blew it!

Hello Kurt

No you did't totally blew it, this actually sounds pretty good.

I like the voice

Just an observation

*kick is too muddy. I would turn down some db in the 300hz - 600hz area.
*guitars and over heads on drums are a bit too bright. If I replay the mix my ears will get tired really fast. I would suggest a cut between the 2k-5k area on guitars and a shelf eq cut on overheads around the 6khz and above. Not too much, just a bit so is not as tiring to the ear.

I don't have the recording of this song so I don't really know how the quality of it is.
Just my opinion while listening.

Keep it up! Smile

Awesome, thanks for the advice! I'll tweak it some more and see what it sounds like. Coming back to it, it does sound a little too bright. Thanks!
