There were two keys to the drama of this track that I tried to concentrate on: the break between the intro and first verse, and the outro chorus. It's a great recording, which made it easy to work with. There wasn't any serious remediation needed on any of the tracks.
Master buss on mixdown included a touch of tape saturation, and less than 3db of soft knee compression.
The mastering chain included some very slight EQ tweaks, followed by Vlad's excellent Limiter #6, using *very* light compression and limiting.
