Atrophy (Loud, Low-Down, and Dirty)
#1
After hearing a few great mixes of this song you guys did, i decided to stray away from the pack a bit and really grit this thing up where I thought it sounded a bit sterile. After a second listen to the mixes, and a comparison with mine, there are a few things i thought i should change, but probably won't until I get bored with the other songs and come back to this one.

For now, here's my first run at this session. a few things are a bit more compressed than i would have liked, and the cymbals are a bit louder than I'd like them to be, but I'm not too worried about it at the moment.

Again, I'm using my very minimal home rig:

Platform: Ubuntu Studio (Linux) on Apple MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.4GHz 13" (Mid-2010) with 2GB ram
DAW: Ardour 3
Monitoring: Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Closed Back Headphones

How is the mixing experience in Ubuntu? I have not touched that in forever Lol

I love the work on the voice. especially the delays.
I agree with you the cymbals are a bit too loud. seems like too much compression too.. regardless it sounds good!!

I like the balance overall.. I like how grungy it sounds. Smile
