Southern Sirens: 'Rachel' (Dave Boogie Mix)
#1
My mix of this heartfelt sad song. I was nearly in tears many times mixing this one.

Nice mix.
I like the dryness.

Some ideas came to my mind.
Esses could he tamed a bit here and there. For example 1:42. Check also that the reverb might enhcance the esses.

Also the vox could be a little bit softer sounding. THe attitude and pressure in her singing is quite soft, so the sound of her voice could better reflect it.

You might try to tame the ukuleles high content a bit as it begins to mask the vox. Now it starts to bring some fatique before the song ends. If you have a dynamic eq with sidechain, it might work so that when the vox is active, there could be little low-pass filtering in ukulele. And when the vox disappears it would come slightly brighter automatically.

Hi!

The only think came in my mind is that maybe the ukelele could have more room to seem is playing with her vox. I have to agree about esses...

Nice dynamic on the ukelele and the general tone u got, good job Smile

All best
