Mixdown Exercise Pro Tools - all tracks included
#1
Hi!
The title says it all - did a Pro Tools Mixdown exercise for myself. Gave myself about 3 hours to get it done - which i enjoyed very actually, for it is a very nice song.
Tried to keep the vocals in Front, but also the drums. Had a feeling that the song would sound good with a rather modern, dry sound on both of them. No long reverbs.
Did a tiny mastering also, just widening the stereo-Image and limiting.

Comments are appreciated!
Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Good mix, but I find the electric piano on the right distracting ( it has too much lows). Acoustic guitar that plays through the whole song is great. A little more bass and a short delay on main vocal can do the trick.

Hi Obelix!

I agree with you in all parts - except for the Delay on the Vocals maybe. I wanted the vocals to sound dry and be in front.
You are definitely right about the bass - maybe 1 or 1,5 dB more would be right.
The Key-Balance (in lower middle freq.) is a good point. There is another Keyboard Sound in the left to go with the right one, but they are not balanced very well.

Thanks!

Chris
