I think your mix is more on the outimate (if that is the opposite of intimate) end. As such, I find it quite convincing. It sounds rather compressed to me, almost comically compressed, and together with its rather midrangy frequency footprint, it develops a surprisingly believable pocket-AM-radio, in-real-life-I-am-so-much-bigger-than-this appeal. That it probably could not get from anywhere else.

To my ear the piano comes out better than in any other of the mixes here, most evident at 3:45.

On the other hand, I think you sacrifice a lot of meat and color with this approach, as it shows when you compare it with uzilevi's mix or Vinnie's second mix.

In a word, I would probably go for some more earthy for myself, but I find your mix very illuminating and instructive. Thanks for sharing it!
