What a great song - my attempt at bringing it to life

as a listener, I appreciate the furry warmth and mild artsiness of your mix!

As a wannabe engineer, I'd call your mix a bit... hm... unglued, I guess, or maybe flaky. The lead guitar seems too far off (pan-wise) for its importance, the piano too far off (again pan-wise) and way too heavy for its mostly supportive function, and the acoustic guitar kind of egg-slices the vocal (again pan-wise, mostly, anyway). That reminds me of something... let me try headphones... ah, better! Still somewhat slanted, but less warped and twisted! Did you mix on headphones? Oh, and do I remember correctly that the multitrack has two lead vocals? And did you keep them both, all the time, thus creating the doubling effect (hence the artsiness)? Intentionally?

From an engineering perspective, I find your mix rather odd. But if I'd have to take sides, I'd always be a listener first. And as a listener, I really love your mix! Big time! That should give the engineer in me something to think. And both of me thank you for sharing your mix!
