Little Wing- Roy version
#1
Here's a mix of this one done in between cooking on Thanksgiving.
I dunno.
Thoughts?

Very nice impressive snare w/woody tone anchoring the mix, especially the slower parts, and has a nice bounce to it. I'd like to hear more guitar in the solo part and/or less snare (hogging all the attention in the part). I also think the guitar can use a bit more body to be a bit more powerful to compete with the snare. And perhaps some fx in the solo part to make it wider/spacier to differentiate from other parts?

Btw, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving dinner. It's great that we set out a day to be thankful, one day for the good and the rest of the year is for the bad and the ugly. Not to bad, right?

Thanks. I did automate some delay and turned the guitar the guitar up in the solo but maybe I was a bit too conservative. Also, I can see the drums being distracting considering they're centered (the snare at least) and the guitar is panned so that might mess with the focus/

I could agree that maybe it could use some more body but I was concerned that the mix was already kind of dark already so I might not have made the guitar as full as it could be.

Cheers!

I dont think the mix is dark at all, but can it be a bit brighter? Yes. Perhaps a little brighter guitar can help do both, make the mix brighter and louder guitar. One stone two birds Smile. But you know better than I with what to do. I still like it.

To be fair, I did 'brighten' the mix a bit in 'mastering'. So I may have made decisions about stuff before any final tweaks.
In addition to any instrument automation I also automated sections and maybe that plays with the overall perceived loudness or lack of loudness of the guitar or whatever. Or maybe not, I dunno.

Cheers!
