For this mix I tried to get inspiration and guidance from Guy Clark's "L.A. Freeway". Hopefully that's a sound that Secretariat's potential audience loves to hear.

Drums were very difficult to me. I had to make them several times before I was ready to consider to abandon this song. I don't know what was bothering me with those drums. Maybe something in the spatial feeling that overheads created.

Otherwise I didn't think too much, just mixed without any special tricks.

Sounds fine,the thing I hated was that ticking hat that is in the oh and snare track.
Don't think about things to much and torture youself the mix sounds pretty good to me.

Me too I tried to do something with it (saturation and sharp cuts with eq), but I couldn't fix the main problem. So I stopped thinking it...
