(Noob) Practice Mix
#1
Hello! I've been teaching myself how to mix/master on and off for about six months now and this site has been a great boon to my progress. I've mostly just been playing around with things and going by ear, but I've also supplemented with YouTube videos from Hardcore Music Studio and REAPER Mania. I figured I'd post here and (hopefully)  get some feedback on my most recent mix.
I'm on Reaper as my DAW and used mostly default plugins. I replaced the kick, snare, and toms with SSDSampler5, and used Deelay for the vox.

EDIT (v2): Tweaked some EQ and tried to pull out a bit more of the dynamics, among some other small changes. Feedback is welcome!

Your balances are pretty solid. nees Some eq changes just to make everything blend better.
Vocals are good like that imo. Guitars need a lil bit more cleaning with the eq or perhaps a bit of a boost on the top end.
also the bass needs to come up a bit more.. but overall great work especially because your ears sound like you are headed in the right direction of mixing. KEEP IT UP!

Thanks! I'm taking your input into account now and tweaking things. I think I hear what you're referring to with the guitars and bass. I feel like my biggest issue right now is dynamics. Everything feels very level and flat, if that makes any sense lol. Still figuring out how to remedy that...
