James May - Don't Let Go...again
#1
Hi All

This is my mix of this nice, mellow song.

In my view, the challenge with this song is to mix it to sound nice but not boring, my first attempts were far too nice so I struggled a bit to find the right energylevel.

Tips and hints are greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Sounds good. It has a nice sense of space. The tone is good.
few points:-
some automation could help the vocals in the initial part.
you could revisit your panning choices . it is a tad left heavy. shaker is a bit loud for my taste and so is the cymbal. also too many instruments playing close to the centre. cant put my finger on it. something doesnt feel right.

Hi guys and thanks for your comments!!

Blue Bus: I agree with you completely about the panning, I forgot to listen to the mix using my headset... Its now more balanced.

I have done some more adjustments and added automation on the vocal and the guitars and a new mix is attached.

Thanks again for listening!
