MIX NOTES
- One of those projects that sounds good straight away for me so hard to know where to begin
- Kick and Snare tracks are already loud as hell and full spectrum
- EQ'ed sub frequencies of tracks that need it; also dips in 200-300hz region for Kick and Snare
- Created a DRUMS group and compressing it really shaped the aggression for Snare and Kick
- Clipped Kick and Snare for additional headroom
- Compressed BASS and added parallel Exciter and Chorus for fuller sound and "laptop harmonics"
- Created 3 major groups:
- TOAD FROM HELL (SFX7, SFX8) - midrange tracks that complement bass
- INBETWEENS (Sample, SFX2, SFX3) - sounds that hit in between the bass
- INTERRUPTIONS (SFX4, SFX5, SFX6) - sound that occur at the same time of bass
- TOAD FROM HELL side-chained to duck when DRUMS triggers
- TOAD FROM HELL side-chained to duck low end when INTERRUPTIONS group triggers
- INBETWEENS and INTERRUPTION duck when KICK and SNARE trigger
- Major groups individually compressed to level out signals. Also a SYNTHS group (Synth1, Synth2, Synth3) which mainly was out of the way
- Vox tracks were EQed, de-essed, and Plate reverb added
