Actions - Devil's Words (NARD STUDIOS)
#1
Hi, newbie here..
Love the project

I just learning (again) about mixing

Kick replace with SSD4
Snare add sampling with SSD4 too

Still need to add huge snare part on intro
maybe add it on next version

Still not satisfied on the bass, maybe too loud or need to cut eq the sub bass, feel muddy on low end

This is my V1 Mixing and Mastering
Any comments welcome   Blush

V2!!

Log :
  • Balancing overall
  • Add more sustain to snare
  • And... still confuse about bass track  haha... i cant hear low end freq on my speaker, so must car check tomorrow

---- Edit ----
After car check, low end is fine
But i hear high end "rattle",
i dont know how to describe it, but it annoy me
i think the culprit is exciter plugin on overhead or tamborin
Will check later

And the snare.. i think will change to Version 1, its sound better on Version 1

V4.2 JUST FOR EXPERIMENT
Yeah i know, i upload a lot revision haha

so, on this version, i just want to try if its weird to stack 3 track snare like this?

i add more snare sample from another forum (gearspace).

i use 3 track snare in here :

  1. the original snare track
  2. SSD 4
  3. and Paramore single shot from gearspace

i edit some eq on guitar too

the problem is... is the snare too loud?

i use the original reference from this song

and the level of snare volume i think is same

but do you think the snare interfere the lead vocal?

Hi! I think you nailed the drum sound, and the guitars too! In general everything is balanced and super punchy. I would have eq'd / saturated the bass to be a little more present in the low-mids / mids area, it struggles a bit with kick and toms. Would you mind sharing your lead vocal processing? And also, what exactly is the "paramore single shot" from Gearspace that you mentioned in the post below? Is that a particular One Shot sample?
Anyway, great mix, I prefer it to the original one. If you want, check out my version of the mix I just uploaded.
