Mykey Massacre - Don't Please Stay mix and master
#1
Here is my mix and master of the song.

I leaned more into the 80's metal theming of the song, with a bit of early punk in terms of tone. Added much more rooms and ambiance in the track.

Hope you enjoy! Smile

Balance is very nice; everything is nicely "in the mix"

Why the more room and ambience?

Maybe I would have wanted the "clash" of the drums to be more 10k-ish ...

It sounds like the clean guitar is only panned hard L ... I'm not sure I understand it ....

Maybe I miss a bit presence in the drums, especially snare and toms ... maybe it's an effect of the extra ambience and verbgh?

Overall nice work though
I have a Polish friend, who is a sound engineer. Oh, and a Czech one too.

Thanks for the kind words! For the drums, I went with more rooms just because it sounded really empty with the stock stem, so I added a room emulator to bring that out and add a more 80's feel to the song. Maybe I overshot the emulator?
The clean guitars (I think it was panned LR on both the tracks) needed more in the right channel...I probably forgot to do something to it. I'll look at the session when I have time and see what I forgot.
Again, thanks for the kind words and suggestions! Much appreciated! Smile

Hi!
I like the big bottom energy.
Rhythmic GTR sounds powerful, but feels a bit charged on one side.
The only think for me is that the vocals and the GTR Solo feels in general a bit dry, but thats my test.
Anyway, good job!
Cheers!
