Yeah - I notice some of the the more contemporary sessions do seem to be more on the bright side of things. I find that sometimes makes it difficult to judge if the mix is actually too bright or not when you've been listening for a while. Yeah I've found recently that taming one or two resonances / freqs can sometimes make all the difference, and result in less extreme overall eq.
