Here's my mix. I didn't use any added samples or anything like that...just the tracks that were provided. And, I am very happy with the kick and snare sounds that I was able to achieve. I like a fairly prominent kick with the beater on the loud side (this is good for cutting through on small speakers, etc.) and a controlled snare. Since this session was recorded live in studio, lots of challenges with varied volumes and proximity issues with all instruments and vocals were present. And, that's where the challenge presents itself with these live recordings. I used to try to make them sound more like actual isolated studio recordings, but they didn't always come out very well, so I tried to just go with that live sound this time.
