A few suggestions:
- Ease back on the snare reverb. It sounds unnatural and distracting to me.
- Use automation to bring out the trombone fills. Maybe some saturation too. The player sounds too shy.
- The guitar sounds too thin. Let it them have some more low mids.
Overall, this mix sounds too 80s to me. A classic funk song like this should have more of a late 60s / early 70s sound.

I don't want 70s sound. I want it to sounds like a today's band playing this song.

pretty solid mix man.. one thing for me would be the girl voice.. needs heavy compression to keep here volume more controlled and that way sits better in the back of the main vox. Guys voice sounds more controlled in comparison so to me that's just one thing I'd do.
Like the snare tone you got and well kick could come up a bit on the 5k area to have some more click there.
also the guys voice at points sounds very boxy.. like with too much 400hz-600hz or something.. not sure if it's the recording or if it's an eq move you made.
